Cornett’s Secret Art of Praying Mantis Kung Fu
At Cornett’s Secret Art of Praying Mantis Kung Fu in Nashville, TN, we teach Jook Lum Temple Chinese Boxing, a Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu system rooted in a traditional and once-secretive Chinese martial art. Our training is unique, as we blend this ancient Kung Fu with the Dillman Karate International System, providing students with valuable insights and techniques from both disciplines.
A Fusion of Two Powerful Systems
In addition to Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu, we incorporate elements from the Dillman Karate International System, including:
✅ Small Circle Jiu-Jitsu techniques such as finger locks, joint locks, arm bars, and chokes
✅ Limited ground fighting (as staying on your feet is key to self-defense)
✅ Expanded pressure point striking knowledge, applying the cycle of destruction, angles, directions, and internal energy for maximum effectiveness
As Sifu Wally Cornett puts it:
"I will not only teach you techniques, but I will teach you the angles, directions, cycle of destruction order, and internal energy delivery to exact ‘pressure point striking’ for the most effect."
A Martial Art with Honor & Values
Our school is built on Christian values and traditional Chinese martial arts principles, emphasizing honor and respect—toward others and yourself. As part of your Kung Fu lifestyle, you will develop discipline, confidence, and mental strength, all while learning practical self-defense.
